Traction: Covers all forms of Transport and Travel both heritage and modern and covers rail, road, air and sea transportation.
Visits could be to Air Museums or Air Shows, Road and Rail Museums or live events such as Historical Bus/Tram gatherings, or Heritage Railway Visits. Water based visits may include sailing or rowing regattas or such events as “Tall Ships” Gathering or visits to Lighthouses or even sea going vessels.
Engineering aspects of the Group will likely include visits to historical and modern engineering projects. Recently the Group visited the Nissan Car Factory in Sunderland for a guided tour as well as visits to Drax Power Station, Plasmoor and Enfinium – Waste to Energy Plant at Ferrybridge.
If you have an interest in Engineering or Transport why not come along to one of our group meetings at Selby Bowls Club on the 2 nd Tuesday of Each month from 14:00 to 16:00. Or alternatively contact either of the group leaders; Eddie Roberts and Ian Ayres using the enquiry form above
